Team bolao at Eilat Footvolley Worldcup
The Eilat Footvolley Worldcup has a tradition to unite the best players of the world to Israel every year. This year our Austrian #teambolao craques Antonia Missethan and Julia Rauch (female competition) and Jakob and Klemens Hofmann-Wellenhof (male competition) took part in this great tournament and made it to the quarter finals!
Playing among international top starts like Natalia Guitler or Vanessa Tabarez, Renan or Franklin, our Austrian teams formed part of the incredible tournament at the Red Sea. There, the footvolley scene came together to celebrate the very best sport on the highest level possible.
The current European Champions Antonia and Julia faced quite a hard group with teams from Brazil, Israel and Germany. After loosing the first game to Lana and Josefa (BRA), they won the two following games and proceeded to the quarter finals. Especially the amazing comeback from a 3:14 to a 17:15 win against Germany made them dream of more. Eventually, after a questionable draw and a defeat against Lana and Josefa, the girls proudly ended their journey of the tournament in the quarter finals.
Jakob and Klemens made their way through their taff group with two wins against Daniel and Magnus form Norway and Liron and Eden from Israel. They only lost their first game against the high-flying and spectacular Pascal and Liel from Israel. The boys from Graz reached the second place in their group and promoted to the round of sixteen. Showing some fantastic footvolley and winning against Oren and Raz from Israel made them reach the quarter finals eventually. As to be expected, a huge opponent was about to wait for them: Renan and Felipe. The boys gave it all but had to face a clear 7:18 defeat against the Brazilian top stars, who made it even to the finals.
Both female and male games throughout the whole tournament showed a remarkably high level of footvolley, which was amazing to watch and follow. Thanks to Eilat and the event organizers to make this huge footvolley party such a success!
