Vini and Lapiseira win Footvolley Open

The Casarista Footvolley Open 2024 in Graz City Park came to an end with an atmospheric final day. After two spectacular days of top-class footvolley, the Brazilians are once again smiling from the winner’s podium with Vinicius Rossa/Lapiseira.

This year’s level of play was once again something very special: exciting team compositions across nations brought a new appeal to the tournament. For example, Benedikt Hofmann-Wellenhof played with Bocha Silva from Argentina, and the successful Italian duo Iacopucci/Faccini also competed with new partners. Federico Iacopucci, who became a crowd favorite and MVP, sensationally reached the final with his partner Dudu from Portugal. In the final, they were only beaten by the overpowering Brazilians. Third place went to the co-favorites Ron Ben Ishay and Maor Haas from Israel.

The podium

“I have no words. To come here to Europe and have such great opponents is wonderful. In Brazil, you don’t know how good the level is here in Europe. The organization, the players, the fans here in Graz can definitely keep up with the atmosphere in Brazil and it was a great pleasure to be here,” said winner Vinicius Rossa after the match.
His partner Lapiseira added: “We had to show full focus in every game because we’ve seen over the course of the tournament how good the level is. We concentrated from game to game and are happy to have won.”

Lapiseira in Action

The atmosphere in the bolao Arena, which has been set up in the Verkehrsgarten all summer, was unwaveringly good despite intermittent rainfall. In addition to the spectacular matches on the field, the musical and gastronomic supporting program contributed to this. The footvolley party in Graz continues next week, when Austria will once again have a chance to win the Thumfort Female Open, the biggest European female tournament so far.
