Official: EFVL World Challenge in Graz
In 2022 Graz will become the footvolley capital of the world: After the successful hosting of the European Championship 2018 on the main square in Graz and many other international tournaments in recent years, the Mur metropolis will become the hub of the footvolley world. Spectacular sport on three tournament days is guaranteed!
The “EFVL World Challenge Graz 2022” will take place between June 24th and 26th, 2022 at Freiheitsplatz Graz. The city is a real footvolley hotspot: the European Championships (main square), 2019 the European Footvolley League (Freiheitsplatz) and also the 2021 Nations Cup (Mariatrost) took place on the Mur in 2018.
However, a World Cup like this is new. bolao and the European Federation (EFVL) want to lay the foundation for an international development of the sport and bring the footvolley scene together. In addition to the best players in Europe, absolute top stars from Brazil, Paraguay, Thailand and the USA will also accept the invitation to Graz.
Our #teambolao athletes will also compete. The 2021 European champions Julia Rauch and Antonia Missethan want to impress at the women’s tournament. Jacky and Klemens Hofmann-Wellenhof, Facu Sila and Juan Lopez from Spain or Joel Niesslein an Lukas Kicherer.
Benedikt Hofmann-Wellenhof, founder of bolao, is fulfilling a dream by hosting the World Cup: “After the 2018 European Championships, we had the idea of finally bringing a World Cup to Graz. It’s all the nicer to be able to officially announce the World Cup together with the EFVL. It’s a big deal for the Austrian sport of footvolley to welcome the world’s best athletes home. The World Championships will be another milestone in the development of the sport. That’s why we are working on an event experience for everyone to present the sport in the best possible way. We look forward to many fans in the stadium!”
The offer in the stadium includes free entry, a wide gastronomic offer, a VIP club, a celebrity exhibition and a “Kids Experience” where the youngest sports fans can try out footvolley. The tournament can be followed via live stream on bolao TV (Youtube).
